Li Keqiang Meets with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt

On the afternoon of September 2, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Fanghua Garden of Diaoyutai State Guesthouse with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt, who was in China to attend the commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Egypt enjoy profound traditional friendship and next year marks the 60 anniversary of the establishment of China-Egypt diplomatic relations. China will firmly support Egypt’s stability and development as always, and stands ready to work with Egypt to deepen political mutual trust, strengthen economic, trade and people-to-people and cultural communication, and boost coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, so as to push forward the China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership and jointly promote regional peace and prosperity.

Li Keqiang pointed out that with the joint efforts of both sides, China and Egypt have achieved positive progress in production capacity cooperation, and the two sides have determined a number of priority cooperation projects in electricity, transportation and other fields. He hoped that the two sides will further highlight the leading role of mechanism and the leadership of enterprises on this basis, innovate financing cooperation, strengthen the docking of policies and regulations, facilitate and safeguard personnel exchanges, and take efforts to promote highly matured production capacity cooperation in transportation, energy and other fields for early implementation, effect and harvest.

Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed that Egypt and China have close comprehensive strategic partnership and enjoy broad prospects for practical cooperation. The Egyptian side appreciates the Chinese side for its firm support, and is willing to make steady headway in cooperation in production capacity, trade and economy, and take Chinese enterprises' investment as a priority in building the New Suez Canal economic development zone.
