Li Keqiang Meets with President Vladimir Putin of Russia

On the afternoon of September 2, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Fanghua Garden of the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, who came to China to attend the commemorative activities marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Li Keqiang expressed that currently the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination enjoys a sound development. President Xi Jinping has held several successful meetings with you this year, which has strongly boosted the development of China-Russia relations. I hope to co-chair the China-Russia Prime Ministers' Regular Meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev within this year. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen the integration of development strategies and cooperation initiatives and closely coordinate and cooperate in international and regional affairs with the Russian side, so as to jointly safeguard the victorious results of the World Anti-Fascist War and international fairness and justice and promote peace, stability and prosperity for the two countries, the Eurasian continent and even the world.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China and Russia are highly complementary in economy and enjoy huge potential for cooperation. The two countries have achieved positive progress in the cooperation of a number of major strategic projects such as energy, high-speed rail and regional collaboration. The Chinese side is willing to, together with the Russian side, carry out production capacity cooperation and joint research and development, and deepen cooperation in fields including cross-border infrastructure construction, energy, aviation and space technologies as well as development in the Far East areas, so as to promote China-Russia relations to constantly make new progress on the track of mutual benefit and win-win results.

Vladimir Putin expressed that the Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination is developing smoothly. Both countries enjoy high political mutual trust and share the same position on safeguarding the victorious results of the Anti-Fascist war and other major international issues. The Russian side is confident in the prospect of Chinese economy and Russia-China cooperation, and is willing to advance cooperation with the Chinese side in energy, aviation, petrochemical and other major projects, and expand cooperation in mutual investment, finance and insurance, information technology and other newly emerging fields with China, in a bid to inject new momentum to the economic growth of both countries. The Russian side will make earnest preparations for the Russia-China Prime Ministers’ Regular Meeting and believes that it will strongly speed up the development of bilateral practical cooperation.
