Wang Yi Holds Talks with Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour of Sudan

On October 28, 2016, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour of Sudan in Beijing.

Wang Yi said that China attaches great importance to its solid friendship with Sudan. Since the establishment of strategic partnership announced by the two heads of state last year, political mutual trust has been further enhanced and the construction of cooperation mechanisms in various fields has achieved new progress. China is willing to, together with Sudan, maintain strategic mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and continue to promote cooperation in energy, production capacity, agriculture, renewable energy and other areas as well as people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to constantly inject new impetus into China-Sudan strategic partnership.

Wang Yi expressed that China appreciates Sudan's long-term and valuable support to issues concerning China's core interests and major concerns as well as stands firmly behind Sudan's efforts in safeguarding national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

Ibrahim Ghandour noted that Sudan thanks China for its long-term and valuable support to Sudan on international occasions and selfless assistance to Sudan's economic and social development. The Sudanese side will continue to firmly support China's efforts in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity, adhere to the One-China policy and support China's stance on the South China Sea issue. Sudan is willing to continually push forward pragmatic cooperation with China to constantly elevate bilateral relations to new highs.

Both sides also exchanged views on current international and regional hotspot issues.
