Wang Yi Meets with Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Susan Rice of US

On August 28, 2015, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Susan Rice of the US.

Wang Yi noted that President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to the US this September at the invitation of President Barack Obama. This visit not only bears on the development course of future China-US relations and the interests of the two peoples, but also will exert an extensive and far-reaching influence on international and regional situation. Both sides should join efforts to enhance strategic communication, boost communication and cooperation, properly handle differences and ensure the complete success of the visit.

Susan Rice noted that the US side is ready to, together with China, make active and full preparation for President Xi Jinping's visit to the US, deepen bilateral cooperation in a series of sectors, properly handle the differences and ensure the success of and fruitful results from President Xi Jinping's visit to the US.

Both sides also exchanged views on bilateral, international and regional issues of common concern.
