The most important outcome of President Xi Jinping's visit to Myanmar last year was the decision of building a China-Myanmar community with a shared future that features China and Myanmar sticking together through thick and thin made by both sides, charting the course for the long-term development of bilateral relations. This time, the two sides have reached agreement in principle on the action plan to achieve this goal, providing concrete guidance for and injecting strong momentum to the implementation of consensus of the two heads of state and the building of the China-Myanmar community with a shared future.

The China-Myanmar Economic Corridor (CMEC) is a flagship project of the Belt and Road cooperation, and the practice of building the China-Myanmar community with a shared future. China is willing to work with Myanmar to implement the five-year plan for economic and trade cooperation, speed up the construction of the west, north, and east ends of the CMEC, promote an early implementation of the Kyaukpyu Deep Sea Port, the China-Myanmar Border Economic Cooperation Zone and the New Yangon City, to boost Myanmar's development for the benefit of its people. The cooperation between China and Myanmar is the mutual support and mutual assistance between friends, and a vivid manifestation of the "Paukphaw" friendship of the two countries. China is willing to share its development opportunities with Myanmar and enhance coordination and cooperation for mutual benefits and win-win results.

Wang Yi said that Myanmar will assume the roles of the country coordinator of China-ASEAN relations and co-chair of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation. China is willing to draft new thoughts of Lancang-Mekong cooperation with Myanmar against the backdrop of regular pandemic prevention and control, and take the opportunity of 30th anniversary of the China-ASEAN dialogue relations to elevate China-ASEAN relations to a higher level.

Myanmar wishes to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with China so as to promote its own development. Myanmar places much emphasis on the CMEC construction, and is willing to undertake timely coordination and jointly push forward relevant projects with China. Myanmar thanks China for providing COVID-19 vaccines, and hopes to further expand exports to China. The two sides can also enhance cooperation of labor service, and promote the stability and development in border areas.
