|Wang Yi Holds Telephone Talks with Emmanuel Bonne, Foreign Policy Adviser to the President of France|
On August 26, 2019, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held telephone talks at request with Emmanuel Bonne, Foreign Policy Adviser to the President of France.
Emmanuel Bonne briefed on the French side's latest work on the Iranian nuclear issue and expressed the willingness to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Chinese side to ease the current tension and safeguard the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear issue.
Wang Yi said, the Chinese side supports the French side's diplomatic mediation and is ready to provide necessary assistance to this end. China and France, as permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, shoulder important responsibilities for international peace and security. The two sides should continue to maintain coordination and firmly uphold the JCPOA, the multilateral process, the free trade system, equity, justice and regional security and stability.
Emmanuel Bonne agreed with Wang Yi's view.
