|Xi Jinping Meets with President Joko Widodo of Indonesia|
On June 28, 2019 local time, President Xi Jinping met with President Joko Widodo of Indonesia in Osaka.
Xi Jinping pointed out that next year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia. We need to make persistent efforts to jointly break new ground for mutual benefit, win-win results and common development between the two countries in the new era. We need to enhance experience sharing in state governance and administration, well build the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway and the regional comprehensive economic corridor, expand cooperation in vocational training, and promote the upgrade and improvement of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Chinese side is ready to cooperate with countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on smart cities and digital economy, so that the leading role of science and technology and the driving force of innovation will become new drivers of development for our two countries and the region.
Xi Jinping pointed out that the building of a new type of international relations and a community of with a shared future for mankind I put forward is in line with the Bandung Spirit proposed 64 years ago. Under the current circumstances, China and Indonesia need to step up coordination and cooperation on the international stage to uphold justice and righteousness.
Joko Widodo said that I attach great importance to the cooperative relations between Indonesia and China. The Indonesian side is ready to work with the Chinese side to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative, deepen economic and trade relations, advance the construction of Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway and other key projects, intensify communication and cooperation within multilateral frameworks and support ASEAN countries in deepening coordination and cooperation with China.
