|Wang Yi Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi of Moldova|
On the afternoon of September 19, 2018, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Tianjin with Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi of Moldova who was here to attend the Summer Davos Forum.
Wang Yi expressed that China and Moldova are traditional friendly countries that have always respected and supported each other. Since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, the two countries have constantly enhanced mutual trust, smoothly advanced practical cooperation, maintained communication and coordination in international affairs, and respected as well as supported each other's sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and development path chosen independently. Considering the Moldovan side as an important cooperative partner in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Chinese side is willing to strengthen the integration of development strategies in line with the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits. The Chinese side welcomes and supports the participation of the Moldovan side in the process of cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries. Both sides should complete the negotiation on a free trade agreement at an early date, expand bilateral trade investment, enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and improve personnel exchange facilitation, so as to create more well-being for the two peoples.
Tudor Ulianovschi expressed that Moldova has always committed to developing friendly relations between the two Parties and the two countries with China. Moldova firmly supports the one-China policy, actively participates in the Belt and Road Initiative, expects that the two countries will complete the negotiation on a free trade agreement at an early date, and stands ready to take an active part in the "16+1 cooperation" to discuss third-party cooperation.
