|Wang Yi Holds Talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita of Morocco|
On July 10, 2018, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Beijing with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita of Morocco who was in China for the 8th Ministerial Meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF).
Wang Yi expressed that 2018 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Morocco, and bilateral relations have become increasingly mature. China thanks Morocco for its long-term and valuable support for issues concerning China's core interests and major concerns, and its efforts for and contributions to promoting China-Arab states cooperation and China-Africa cooperation. Since China and Morocco established strategic partnership in 2016, the development of bilateral cooperation in various fields has been accelerated with remarkable achievements and constant highlights. For the next phase, both sides should deepen cooperation in economy, trade and investment under the framework of the Belt and Road, enhance exchanges at all levels and in various fields, jointly ensure the success of the CASCF, and make full preparation for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) to be held in September, in a bid to push bilateral strategic partnership to constantly reach new stages.
Nasser Bourita expressed that President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the 8th Ministerial Meeting of the CASCF this morning, and announced to establish strategic partnership between Arab states and China, charting the course for deepening cooperation between the two ancient civilizations under the new situation. Morocco fully supports this. Over the past six decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Morocco and China have always enjoyed sincerity and friendship, mutual understanding and support. Morocco supports China in realizing national reunification at an early date, and its efforts in maintaining core interests, including the efforts in safeguarding maritime rights and interests. Morocco stands ready to, together with China, further enhance strategic communication, deepen cooperation in various fields, accelerate the advancement of the joint building of the Belt and Road, and strengthen coordination under the two major mechanisms, the CASCF and the FOCAC, in a bid to propel bilateral strategic partnership to constantly achieve new outcomes.
