Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Jüri Ratas of Estonia

On the afternoon of July 6, 2018 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the hotel where he stayed in Sofia with Prime Minister Jüri Ratas of Estonia.

Li Keqiang firstly congratulated the Republic of Estonia on its 100th anniversary of the independence and said that China-Estonia relations show a good development momentum. China is willing to intensify high-level exchanges with Estonia and cement political mutual trust, laying a solid foundation for the improvement and upgrade of bilateral relations.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China appreciates Estonia's active integration of its own development strategy with the Belt and Road Initiative. Currently, China and Estonia have achieved new results in energy, new formats, third-party market cooperation and other areas. China supports its e-commerce enterprises to strengthen cooperation with the Estonian side. China welcomes Estonia's active participation in the construction of the China-Europe Express and is willing to reinforce cooperation in agriculture, transportation logistics with Estonia. It is hoped that the two sides will carry forward traditional friendship, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and consolidate the public opinion foundation for bilateral relations.

Jüri Ratas said that Estonia-China relations enjoy a strong development momentum with practical cooperation in energy and third-party markets progressing smoothly. Estonia is willing to strengthen high-level mutual visits with China, continue to tap into cooperation potential, and enhance the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, cooperation in the China-Europe Express, and connectivity projects as well as cooperation in emerging industries such as e-commerce and digitalization. Estonia and China have a good exchange of experience in agriculture. Estonia welcomes China to import more high-quality agricultural products from Estonia, and stands ready to strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges and tourism cooperation with China.
