Xi Jinping stressed that the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” has become the mainline of China-Tajikistan cooperation. In the next phase, the two sides should promote the balanced development of trade, deepen cooperation in finance and investment, expand cooperation in connectivity, and intensify people-to-people and cultural exchanges. Both sides should continuously deepen the fight against the "three forces" and transnational organized crime in the field of security. China supports Tajikistan in taking over the presidency of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) this year and is willing to assist Tajikistan in well preparing for the CICA Summit.
Emomali Rahmon expressed that Tajikistan cherishes its traditional friendship with China, and speaks highly of China’s long-term assistance to the country’s economic and social development. Tajikistan is willing to align the country's development strategy for the period up to 2030 with the “Belt and Road” initiative, and expand bilateral cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, science and technology and other fields.
