|Li Keqiang Meets with President Sooronbay Jeenbekov of Kyrgyzstan|
On the afternoon of June 7, 2018, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse with President Sooronbay Jeenbekov of Kyrgyzstan, who was in China for a state visit and attendance at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Qingdao Summit.
Li Keqiang expressed that China and Kyrgyzstan are important and friendly neighboring countries to each other. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 26 years ago, both sides have always upheld the concepts of mutual respect and win-win cooperation, achieving leapfrog development of bilateral relations. President Xi Jinping and Mr. President jointly announced the establishment of China-Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership yesterday, which will vigorously promote bilateral relations to a new level. China is willing to make concerted efforts with Kyrgyzstan to push forward cooperation between the two countries in various areas for constant and new outcomes.
Li Keqiang pointed out that China and Kyrgyzstan enjoy high economic complementarities and broad cooperation space. China is willing to, together with Kyrgyzstan, tap into cooperation potential, and speed up the advancement of cooperation in such areas as production capacity, connectivity and finance, so as to propel the improvement and upgrading of practical cooperation between the two countries. China stands ready to expand imports of high-quality agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan to promote the balanced development of economic and trade relations. China supports capable Chinese enterprises to invest and establish business in Kyrgyzstan and hopes that Kyrgyzstan will provide convenience and guarantee in this regard. It is expected that both sides will strengthen cooperation within the SCO framework to jointly raise the level of regional economic cooperation.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that China has scored remarkable achievements since its reform and opening up over the past 40 years, exerting a positive and significant impact on the development of the world. Kyrgyzstan and China’s announcement of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership elevates bilateral relations to a brand new height. Kyrgyzstan stands ready to, on the basis of good-neighborliness and friendliness, work with China to carry out integration of development strategies, deepen cooperation in such areas as investment, the processing industry, agriculture, new energy, transportation and health, and enhance personnel exchanges and cultural communication. Kyrgyzstan stands ready to provide convenience for Chinese enterprises to invest in the country.
