Li Keqiang Sends Congratulatory Message to Newly-appointed Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte of Italy

On June 7, 2018, Premier Li Keqiang sent a message to Giuseppe Conte, congratulating him on his assumption of office as Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy.

Li Keqiang expressed in the congratulatory message that China-Italy relations have maintained a sound development momentum in recent years, with political mutual trust between the two countries being constantly deepened and fruitful outcomes being achieved from exchanges and cooperation in such areas as economy, trade, investment, scientific and technological innovation as well as culture and education, benefiting the two peoples. The Chinese government attaches high importance to developing relations with Italy, and stands ready to make joint efforts with the new Italian government to further consolidate traditional friendship, better integrate the Belt and Road Initiative with Italy’s development strategies, strengthen policy communication and deepen practical cooperation, in a bid to promote sustained and forward-looking development of China-Italy comprehensive strategic partnership.
