Li Keqiang Meets with President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan

On the afternoon of June 7, 2018, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse with President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan, who was in China for a state visit and attendance at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Qingdao Summit.

Li Keqiang noted that the traditional friendship between China and Kazakhstan has been constantly consolidated with practical cooperation being increasingly deepened. President Xi Jinping and Mr. President have held fruitful talks, jointly planning the development of bilateral relations in the future. China attaches great importance to developing its relations and cooperation with Kazakhstan, and is willing to, together with Kazakhstan, continuously strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, reinforce the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative and the development strategy of the “Bright Road” of Kazakhstan, and expand the integration of interests, so as to realize mutual benefit and win-win results.

Li Keqiang pointed out that in recent years, China-Kazakhstan cooperation has achieved a series of groundbreaking achievements, with the positive results yielded from the in-depth advancement in production capacity cooperation in particular. It is hoped that both sides will further cement production capacity cooperation in such areas as infrastructure construction, energy and resources and expand cooperation in agricultural product trade and finance. Both sides should jointly promote the facilitation of trade, investment and personnel exchanges, and push the improvement and upgrade of the industry of both countries. Both countries should strengthen coordination and cooperation within the SCO framework, in a bid to benefit the countries and people of the region with more achievements in practical cooperation.

Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed that Kazakhstan values its relations with China. The two countries have achieved fruitful achievements from bilateral cooperation in various fields and constantly elevated economic and trade cooperation to new highs, setting a model of mutual benefit and win-win results. As an important partner of the "Belt and Road" construction, Kazakhstan stands ready to, together with China, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, propel practical cooperation in various fields including industry, investment, innovation, agriculture, energy and finance, intensify coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, and adhere to the "Shanghai Spirit", in a bid to jointly boost the stability and development of the region.
