Wang Yi: Hope Our Cooperative Partners to Keep Their Words
2018-06-01

On June 1, 2018 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi answered questions concerning the China-United States (US) economic and trade frictions when jointly meeting the press in Brussels with the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.

Wang Yi expressed that with respect to the issues concerning China-US economic and trade frictions, the stance taken by China is not only to preserve its own legitimate interests, but also to safeguard the international rules and the multilateral trading system. China is willing to, in line with the spirit of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, engage in more concrete and in-depth discussions with the US on how to implement the consensus reached earlier by the two countries. China hopes and believes that both sides can eventually reach a result of win-win cooperation. As a responsible country, China has always honored its words in international exchanges. It is hoped that our cooperative partners could keep their words as well.
