On the evening of November 27, 2017 local time, Premier Li Keqiang attended the commemorative activities for the 5th anniversary of the “16+1 cooperation” with leaders of the 16 Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) in Budapest and delivered a speech.
Li Keqiang noted that over the past five years, the “16+1 cooperation” has yielded a series of results and brimmed with greater vitality. Established on mutual trust and equal treatment, our cooperation focuses on boosting common development of China and CEEC and aims to improve people’s well-being in respective countries and the region. The bright vision we planned together and cooperation being implemented at the moment in various fields will surely achieve greater success. It is hoped that cooperation and friendship between China and CEEC will become increasingly better with the passage of time, just like aged vintage wine.
On the same day, Li Keqiang held bilateral meetings respectively with Prime Minister Andrej Plankovic of Croatia, Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia, Prime Minister Jüri Ratas of Estonia, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis of Lithuania, Prime Minister Duško Marković of Montenegro, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka of the Czech Republic, Prime Minister Boiko Borisov of Bulgaria and other CEEC leaders, exchanging views on bilateral relations and the “16+1 cooperation”. All parties unanimously agreed that the summit this time is a success and Premier Li Keqiang’s attendance and speech have injected new impetus into the “16+1 cooperation”. China and CEEC share a profound traditional friendship and are important cooperative partners. It is expected that CEEC will continue strengthening cooperation in economy, trade, people-to-people and cultural engagement and connectivity towards China, so as to jointly open up a better future for bilateral relations and the “16+1 cooperation”.
