On the afternoon of 15 December, President Xi Jinping had a virtual meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing.

President Xi pointed out that in over a month’s time, President Putin will visit China and attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics. President Xi said that he very much looks forward to this “get-together for the Winter Olympics” and stands ready to work with President Putin “for a shared future” to jointly open a new chapter in post-COVID China-Russia relations.
