On the afternoon of September 30, 2021, the eve of the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang met with newly-appointed diplomatic envoys to China from 28 countries at the Great Hall of the People.

During his cordial conversations with the diplomatic envoys, Li Keqiang welcomed them to assume their new posts in China, and asked them to convey sincere greetings and best wishes to the leaders and peoples of their respective countries. Li Keqiang said that China stands ready to work with all countries to strengthen mutual political trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation for win-win results, and work together for the COVID-19 response and economic recovery so as to bring benefits to all peoples. He hopes that the diplomatic envoys in their respective positions will contribute to advancing relations between China and their countries. He also said the Chinese government will provide necessary support and convenience for the diplomatic envoys to perform their duties in China.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China's development has always been propelled by reform and opening-up. Since the beginning of this year, China's economy has continued to recover steadily with a consolidating positive momentum. As China enters a new development stage, we will follow a new development philosophy and foster a new development paradigm to advance high-quality development. We will also overcome new difficulties and challenges while doing a good job in regular pandemic prevention and control. We will maintain the continuity and consistency of macro policies while enhancing their effectiveness and make pre-adjustments, fine-tuning and cross-cyclical adjustments to stabilize rational market expectations. We will maintain stable industrial and supply chains, ensure electricity supply and basic livelihoods, and make sure that the economy is operating within a reasonable range. We will continue to deepen reform, promote high-level opening-up, foster a market-oriented and law-based international business environment, ensure equal treatment to Chinese and foreign-invested enterprises, and promote fair competition. We welcome overseas enterprises to invest in China.

The diplomatic envoys expressed warm congratulations on the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and conveyed their leaders' greetings to the leaders and people of China. They commended China's remarkable development achievements and said China played a vital role in safeguarding international and regional peace and stability and promoting development and prosperity. They believe that China's future growth will bring more opportunities to all countries, and they are willing to play a positive role in promoting friendly cooperation between China and their countries.

At the invitation of Li Keqiang, the diplomatic envoys later attended the National Day reception.
