On June 17, 2003, Norodom Ranarith, President of Cambodian National Assembly, met with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing in Phnom Penh.

Ranarith said that with careful nurture by King Sihanouk and several generations of Chinese leaders, Cambodia-China friendship has been constantly strengthened. The Cambodian people thank China for years of support to Cambodia’s peace and development. The Cambodian National Assembly will promote, as always, Cambodia-China friendship and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.

Li said that China-Cambodia friendship has brought concrete benefits to the two peoples. China will continue to conduct exchanges and cooperation with Cambodia in all areas including parliamentary exchanges according to the policy of maintaining friendship and partnership with neighbors.
