Leaders from Belarus, Sweden, and Australia Expressed Sympathy to China for SARS

Belarusian President Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko has recently sent a message to Chinese President Hu Jintao, expressing sympathy to China for SARS. He said that his country would cooperate closely with the Chinese government to win the battle against SARS.

Swedish Vice Prime Minister Margareta Winberg has also sent a message to Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi, saying that the Swedish government would provide further support to China in fighting SARS. One Swedish medical expert in the field of disease control has been sent to work in China.

In addition, Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said in his message to his Chinese counterpart Li Zhaoxing that the Australian government was closely following the firm and effective measures adopted by the Chinese government to put the SARS situation under control.  The Australian government was encouraged by Chinese leaders' firm determination to fight against SARS, and Australia was ready to provide assistance to China at any time.
