Q: Recently a conflict occurred between the Chinese students and the local people in Ukraine. What is your comment on that?

A: On May 18 and 19, some security guards and students had conflicts with a few Chinese students at the National Technical University of Ukraine, causing three injuries among the Chinese students. Having learned the above-mentioned situation, the Chinese Foreign Ministry attached great importance to it, and immediately reached the Chinese embassy in Ukraine. The Chinese ambassador visited the scene to see the Chinese students, and asked the Ukraine authorities to take immediate measures to treat the injured, safeguard the safety of the Chinese students and investigate the incident in an object and fair manner. At present, the wounded students have been treated promptly. The Chinese embassy in Ukraine will keep in contact with the Chinese students and properly handle all the relevant issues.
