Spokesperson on the Violent Incident Took Place in Phnom Penh
2003-01-31 00:00

Q: It is reported that Thailand has announced to recall its ambassador in Cambodia because some people in Cambodia set its embassy on fire. What is the comment of the Chinese side on the current development of the situation?

A: We are seriously concerned with the violent incident that took place in Phnom Penh and worried about the damage that has brought to the relations between Cambodia and Thailand. Both Cambodia and Thailand are China’s friendly neighbors. We hope that it can calm down as soon as possible.
