Q: It is known that Russian Vice Foreign
Minister Aleksandr Losukov held a luncheon with Vice Foreign
Minister Yang Wenchang today. Can you tell us the result of
the meeting between the two sides?
A:
On 17 January, Vice Foreign Minister Yang Wenchang met with
Vice Foreign Minister Aleksandr Losukov who had a stopover
in Beijing. Both sides exchanged views on Sino-Russian
relations, the DPRK nuclear question and other issues of
common concern.
On the DPRK nuclear question,
the two sides agree that efforts should be made to maintain
peace and stability and support the denuclearization of the
Korean Peninsula and maintain that dialogue should be held
to solve the question peacefully. Against the current
complicated situation, they hope that the parties concerned
should keep calm and exercise restraint and continue to seek
peaceful settlement of the question through dialog.
