The United Nations Security Council is to hold an
anti-terrorism meeting of foreign ministers in New York on
January 20. The meeting will comprehensively review
international anti-terrorism cooperation since the September
11 terrorist attacks incident and determine the focus for
the next step. This is a very important meeting held by the
United Nations Security Council at the beginning of the new
year. China’s Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan has
adjusted the schedule of the visit to the African countries
and will make a special trip to New York to attend this
meeting. Tang Jiaxuan will address the meeting on
China’s stance on the fight against
terrorism.
Tang will also hold talks with UN
Secretary-General Kofi Annan and exchange views on issues of
common concern with foreign ministers of countries concerned.
