Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying's Remarks on Iran's New President Ebrahim Raisi's Assumption of Duty
2021-08-06 17:19

Q:It is reported that Iran's new President Ebrahim Raisi took the oath of office on August 5. Does China have any comment? And what are the expectations for China-Iran relations?

A: The Chinese side extends congratulations on President Ebrahim Raisi's inauguration. Not long ago, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to President Ebrahim Raisi on his election. We believe that under the leadership of President Ebrahim Raisi, Iran will achieve greater progress in national and socioeconomic development.

China and Iran are comprehensive strategic partners. China attaches great importance to developing bilateral relations and stands ready to work with Iran to take the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties this year to elevate bilateral relations to a new level.
